What to look for in a flooring installation company

Flooring is one of the biggest investments, if not the biggest one, you’ll make in your home. You want to get the installation right the first time, and this is what you should look for.

At Bob's Wholesale Carpet we combine modern needs and inspiration with one-to-one, customized customer service.

A family-owned and operated company, we've been in business for over 40 years and offer the lowest prices in Central Ohio. We carry all major brands and our installations are always done by someone in-house, not a subcontractor.

Founder Bob Birchfield is now retired but the business is now run by daughter Sandy who is now president and CEO. Granddaughter Jamie is our operations manager.

All of our professionals are seasoned experts who can guide you on the best flooring type for you, and our installation service is top-notch.

Some of our employees aren't related by blood but are still family none-the-less: Ray, our estimator (who was a former customer) and Daven, our installation specialist, both of whom have been with us for years.

Visit us in our showroom in Lancaster, OH to learn more. We service Fairfield County, Hocking County, Franklin County, Perry County, and Licking County. Be sure to ask about our free estimate.

You want expertise and experience

Which carpet padding is best for my rug? What’s the difference between standard and luxury vinyl? Is laminate the same as vinyl? Are porcelain and ceramic tile the same thing?

These are just some of the questions we’ve heard, and you want someone who knows enough about the product to answer them correctly.

You also want someone who can talk to you about caring for the product, as well as possibly imparting some design advice.

Professional in-house installation is best

Some companies do subcontract, but when the provider is in-house, there is often a higher level of quality.

It not only reflects the store’s reputation, but the person’s qualifications are well-known, and you know exactly who is responsible for what. There’s also better communication between departments; flooring products and sales can advise the installer of any problems, challenges, and goals.

Excellent customer service

Big boxes are popular after-school jobs. That combined with the large corporate chain of protocol doesn’t leave a lot of room for quick, efficient, speedy answers. It’s also not very personal--we’re all about answering modern needs while giving the kind of personalized services from years back.
